I've noticed that much interest is generated through people's emotional need to see animals. Do you think that the planet would be much different if the only land animals were insects? OTOH, take away the plants and you have a total disaster. Except to mow our pasture, which doesn't really exist here except where trees have been removed, it's hard to find an actual need for eaters in an ecosystem. I'd be much better off if all deer and especially 'coons were fenced completely out.
