Trent Lott's house, destined for cartoon infamy, will be rebuilt with taxpayer money.
That makes me ill, but what else is new.

I also saw the article and sent it to my sister who graduated from UConn, located in Storrs, CT. Storrs used to be a sleepy little college town, but is too close to sprawling Hartford for my taste. We chose Floyd County in sw VA because it is also a safe--and healthy--place to live. All of our water flows out of the county (doesn't come from somewhere else), we're far removed from nuclear power plants for nuclear drift, tornadoes are a rare occurrence, etc. We're far from major population centers even though we're located in an East Coast state. The one drawback is if a hurricane hits FL or SC and heads north or northwest, we get much rain as evident one year ago when Florida was repeatedly hit by hurricanes and our neck of the woods took in 8"-12" of rain. You can't have everything.
