You're right about that awful mess of a shopping center on the west side of
Person, Eric, but that other "crappy shopping center" is actually a Super
10, which I shop at a lot for $1 household stuff and canned goods. It's a
great place for anyone living on the cheap - much better than any Kerr or
Eckerd - and I know a lot of folks in the neighborhood who'd be sorry to see
it go. FWIW, I've asked some of the workers/managers there if they know of
plans to close it down (I know it's probably inevitable, but hopefully not
in the immediate future), and they all say no. In fact, the store's just
added a refrigerator case and has started carrying milk, eggs, bread and the
like.

So, uh, I guess "crappy" is in the eye of the beholder.

todd gosh maybe instead of tearing down a place used by many of the poor
folks in the northeast downtown area the city could be helping it become the
only grocery story left downtown morman

Yes, there are some really great deals in this area around the north end of
Oakwood and the Mordecai area, both on the northeast side of downtown. If
you're buying, your timing is probably good as much of the area is just
about on the upswing. They're going to nuke one of the crappy shopping
centers on Person at Franklin, and hopefully the other one will be close
behind.

Funny, I dated a girl a long time ago that lived in those Morgan Street
apartments. I remember the hardwood floors were especially beautiful, and
right across from Moonlight Pizza, too.
