I just figured out that the ones listed above come with it, but NOT
libgcc_s and libstdc++.so.5. Borrowing them from Slackware 11 means we
would need to also upgrade to glibc 2.3.6 which I hope not to do for a
while.

Everything else required is found in Slackware 7.1 (or maybe 8.1).

Slackware 8.1 has libgcc_s.so.1 but only libstdc++.so.4.0.0 (not 5.0).

Lynx would not download the MANIFEST (error uncompressing temporary file) but links2 would.

Slackware 9.0 has libstdc++.so.5.0.2.

Steven, if you add the gtk and gdk stuff and libXi does Seamonkey work for you with glibc 2.3.1 from Slackware 9.0? And a 2.2 kernel.

If so, perhaps you could package the two dependencies from Slackware 9.0 including glibc 2.3.1 libc libm and ld-linux. The rest is found in Slackware 7.1.

In theory Seamonkey can be compiled against libstdc++ 2.9 (which Slackware 7.1 even has). I don't want to download 35MB source code to attempt it.

How do Firefox and Seamonkey compare in cpu and memory usage?
Seamonkey loads a lot faster than Firefox did before it broke.
ldd firefox-bin says it is not a dynamic executable. What is it?
