I am going to try to compile netpbm-uclibc dynamic, which requires libjpeg - is that available somewhere precompiled for uclibc or do I need to compile it first? (I won't bother with tiff and png libraries.)

Then I think I can run the netpbm programs from the camera itself, in the DOS partition, without loop, like I did with busybox. I might also compile a larger, dynamic, busybox, which includes find and which, for the camera. Or I could use the static one already compiled.

Then I can boot with David's USB-linux floppy disk, mount the memory card, and run programs from it without chrooting.
