I notice you are using a debug parameter (-v).
Where did you get that? Is it giving you output?

Are you sure your target is /dev/hda1 ?
It appears that your current partition
(bootable DOS) is /dev/hda1.

So that's what boots first? in DOS?
Unless your system is unusual, that's probably
/dev/hda1. Your loadlin target partition (root=)
will be somewhere else. /dev/hdb1 ? /dev/hdc1 ?

That's what happens when there is no target partition
(root=) or there's a syntax error in the loadlin line.
That's why we need to see exactly what you put in.
