The modules go to /lib/modules/2.2.16/pcmcia (1st ramdisk).

Is it JUST the pcmcia modules that are on the second disk?

Sorry, no. Also the modules in /lib/modules/2.2.16/misc
are on the second floppy.

If you ever redo BL3 2-floppy, you could put the modules on disk 1 and the man pages on disk 2 to make disk1 more useful as a single disk linux.

Is it harder to modify disk1.gz than baslinux.gz,

Do you mean disk1.img?
disk1.img is much, much harder to modify than baslinux.gz.

Probably yes. I could not get the internal modem on that computer to go online so I went in the other room to do email and have been walking back and forth to look at files. (It is a laptop but not all that portable since the internal keyboard is dead and we still have not found half the screws it needs and used laptops always have dead batteries - we get these as basket cases. I am using it just to experiment with 8MB RAM).

If you are not too busy I would be very interested to get a general idea of how you made the disk images for BL3.
