Only if you need a local xterm.

Nope.

Use the same method BL3 uses. See /usr/X11R6/bin/startx

No you don't. You can simply link /dev/mouse yourself.
You don't need my script (in bl2-x.tgz) to do it.

Nope.

As usual, I advise you to install the entire package.

If you have a look at bl2-x.tgz, you should be able to
figure that out for yourself.

As you can see, it runs an installation script (doinst.sh)
and installs XF86Config, .Xdefaults, .xinitrc and a whole
bunch of icewm stuff.

You are talking about Xvesa. Xvesa is in BL3 (not BL2).
If you want to see how to configure Xvesa, I suggest you
examine BL3.

I thought you were the local expert on VESA.

Of course you need a window manager to do that.
Bare X provides very little functionality.

I suggest you use the same method BL3 uses.
See /usr/X11R6/bin/startx

I suggest you use the same method BL3 uses.
See /usr/X11R6/bin/startx
