I did chmod +x deskjet.filter, which I think makes it executable by
anyone.

So I could define several filter files and choose the one that I wanted
for that one printer? Could you please explain again how to use the
commandline part of this, thanks. On the example of gs and
deskjet.filter.

Also can I print pdf files directly or must I convert first.
I don't have any ps printers. What do they look like?

I will try to hook up the linux computer again tomorrow and try this out
as a user instead of root, from the command line.
