Dear Peter,

Your problem is that Microsoft does not support Hebrew on its main competitor's operating system, because it is not in its business interests to do so. Internet Explorer supports Unicode Hebrew well on Microsoft's own OS, Windows. And there are other good browsers which support Unicode Hebrew on Mac computers, for example Firefox. I would recommend, Harold, that you change to Firefox, see http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/.

HH: I also have Safari. I do not have installed Unicode Hebrew fonts, though I do have installed Hebrew fonts. Also, Eudora, the email program I usually use, may be related to my inability to read incoming Hebrew emails. I found this note you wrote earlier:

But the real problems are for the few list members who are stuck with
working from old mainframe systems which only support ASCII text. Also
those who insist on using dinosaur mail clients like Eudora which
continue to make no attempt to support Unicode.

HH: Since I do use Eudora, perhaps that is the problem.

Yours,
Harold Holmyard
