I was wondering when this would be brought up... would be nicer if it
happened with EVERY sub-project that is worked on in SMGL.

For a nice example of how to do this, see the proposal, design and
implementation docs on the wiki for simple-init (rycee, you are still my
hero!). This is "how we should work".
