Lance from Northern California ,
I have used a little wood ash, just to get rid of it, in the garden and in the compost -but would refrain from using too much more than a dusting -or more frequent than once a year...
I think fireplace ash may be best used in the outhouse and is also excellent as a high-temperature-tolerant insulation material...

Hi, I have a good bit of fireplace ash from an indoor wood burning
fireplace and am wondering if this is a useful resource for fertilizing
or composting. Can anyone advise?
Thanks in advance,
Lance from Northern California
