Hello all,

I've studied Peak Oil for a year. There is now a growing effort to
replace oil's dominance in areas such as plastics (using carbohydrates
instead) and gasoline (ethanol (e.g. Brazil), biodiesel, hybrid engines,
wood gas for tractors, plough horses). As the price of gasoline
increases, the oil companies do not expect a dramatic change in consumer
behaviour until the $10 per gallon level!

My very local "pension plan" is to design and build a fish
pond/greenhouse/tree garden energy-recycling and food-producing system
in a rural setting. It's a challenge, alright, and I am seeking help
from many sources. It should be done inexpensively but not cheaply to
avoid constant repairs. The key idea is flexibility and adaptability.

Any takers?

George
