But content includes useful stuff like being able to join on-line. It would be a huge improvement if you could join NAFEX on-line with a credit card or Paypal.

The problem with doing this is that we'd need a real webmaster, which means someone needs to volunteer. Also, it take (a little bit) of money. My husband thinks you can buy space on a webpage with a plug-in credit card handling function for between $50 and $100. And of course, the credit card companies charge a fee - sometimes several percent for tiny 'vendors' like NAFEX. But it's probably worth it. I'm sure we lose lots of potential members, especially among the younger crowd, by requiring a snail-mail check.

Well since one of the many hats I wear is web developer...

In my opinion (I've done research on credit cards acceptance for the Washington Learning Source), the credit card issue would be best off handled via PayPal or Google Checkout.

Both PayPal and Google take a percentage as a fee (2.9% + $0.30 per transaction for Paypal and 2% + $0.20 per transaction for Google), but its less than what Visa or MasterCard will take for the privilege of a merchant account.

I don't think you lose anyone important if they can't

nothing to contribute to NAFEX.

Rather odd opinion to hold. I guess the 19 fruit trees and bushes I've added in addition to the 55+ year old red delicious tree that came with my house doesn't mean I'm interested in fruit trees, since I have a check sitting here for NAFEX, but yet I haven't bothered to pick up a book of stamps.
