Assumptions-- 2209 is the number of the ASTM standard for Level 1 Land
Searcher. Level 1 being the most basic, 2 more advanced and 3 usually the
top level. Some effort is made to parallel the National Fire Protection
Association (NFPA) training levels of awareness, operations, and technician
which are used by the fire service and FEMA.

Basically, 1 means you can survive in the field (maybe with some help), do
as you are told, understand chain of command, and recognize when you are in
over your head (lack skills to fix problem and need assistance).

Two means you can do something about it but not something requiring
extensive immersion in the problem. The HAZMAT example usually used is you
can suit up but not touch the "stuff".

Three means you are a wunderkinder-- able to leap tall forests in a single
bound, read tracks without looking at them, follow scent yourself, never
need assistance, and always find the subject. (If anybody ever writes a
three this is what it should be, but it never will). A wunderkinder is the
mythical super searcher.
