The pen saga continues....why stress and worry about fading pens.  Purchase an inexpensive Brother PT-1290 Label Maker for $19.99 after rebate at Staples.  Pull the labels at the end of the season and put new ones on.  Not quite sustainable...but nothing fades.

I find you can only use the black sharpie's.  All the color sharpie's fade very quickly.

Willie - Just for my sanity: are you talking "Sharpie" or "Industrial
Sharpie"? We use both types and we had A LOT of plastic tags fade
before the season was over this year.

Warning: put the cap back on tight immediately after use. If the cap is left off, they dry out almost immediately and are then useless.
