Tom,

Whenever I found one of my cats with a bird or found a dead bird; I would
take the cat, hold its nose to the bird and give it a few mild whacks on the
rear, and voice my disapproval. I love cats so none of this was severe. Cats
are pretty smart and after a few instances of this I never observed them
stalking , carrying, or bringing back birds.
Objectively, I must concede that the cats may be outsmarting me and perhaps
have learned to hide bird hunting activities. Given the absence of bird
corpses after cat chastisement I chose to believe they have indeed
reformed. :-)
