At DesignHammer, we developed and support a marketing related site in five
languages. All of the text is translated and edited in one of our client's
overseas offices by native speakers, to insure accurate, and meaningful
translations.

It is my understanding, that for marketing and sales copy, you really need a
native speaker to write, or at least edit the original text, as different
cultures go about selling things differently.

Just to make things more complicated, to be top notch, you have to localize
for the region of the world, rather than simply the language. The UK and US
both speak English, but it is pretty obvious for which market a particular
document is written for. The same goes for French in Canada and France, etc.
