Craig,
That's the thing... I'm not sure what information I need, but I know what I
want to accomplish.
I want to be able to know how many unique visitors a web page receives per
day. If a person access that page 10 times a day, it should count as 1
visitor. I know just the IP won't do the job, due to several different
reasons. But, what can I pair with an IP address that will create this
unique machine's identity?
Now, I understand that if a page a viewed 100 times, by 100 different
visitors, but from a public machine, it will count as only 1 visit, since
the IP address and every other hardware information will remain the same.
But this scenario would not be very realistic in this project's case. And I
can always add a hit count to the page.
Any suggestions?

Knowing what type information you are looking for would help define how
to go about getting it. Just saying I want to grab data from someone
computer is not very helpful. Care to elaborate?
