Short of genocide, there will always be "the rest of them". The
perpetrators represent an ethnic and religious group which transcends
national borders. You can't kill "them" all. And trying to kill them
will only result in creating more of "them".

Well, considering that the terrorists aboard the airplanes
administered
their own death penalty, I think it is safe to say that a lethal
injection is not a deterrent.

It was inevitable that some attack would slip through. Appalling that
the one that did was of this magnitude. But intelligence and armed
forces can only do so much in this type of situation.
