Wwwweeeeelllllllll, actually, it is against the law <g> Any school getting federal money is not allowed to engage in any politics! The principal at that school was actively engaged in campaigning and using the school to campaign for Teflon during the election process. Legally, during the next audit that school should have the following years funds substantially reduced to pay back money for any time used in any classroom and any time used by anyone in administration for *real* politics. You can hold mock elections inwhich you give straight facts on each and every candidate. You can not put up posters, which that principal did, encouraging people to vote for a particular candidate. And, depending upon how blantant it is, the school could loose all federal funding unless that principal was removed and any teachers who were also actively involved.

A President or at least his administration has a responsibility to walk
a fine line to discourage such, but the flattery and adulation (ego)
often makes that impractical or difficult politically. I don't know
what the answer is.
