Agree.

<<<Even here I read posts railing against "government regulation" of the sale
of milk, eggs, and farm produce. >>>

About time.

<<  Yeah, the government enforces the regulations, but it's Big Bidness that
wants to eliminate the competition.  >>

Agree.

<<<Let's be clear who the enemy is.>>>

Yes, let's be clear on who the enemy is.........

-----

We already are under corporate control thru the use of government force
against the people instigated by corporations.

Some examples, maybe not such good ones, but these are just the first couple
that popped into my mind:

Big Auto Insurance....Goal?  Expand the customer base.  How much ya wanna
make a bet that behind the scenes they lobbied congress to FORCE everyone who
wants to drive to PURCHASE auto insurance?  And even for those who can afford
to pay for any damages assessed in an accident, making insurance an
unneccessary expense, make the tort system results turn out in such a way as
to force the fiscally responsible to have to buy insurance also.

Hurricane Shutters?  Hmmm, the good ones are really expensive, more expensive
than the windows they cover.  How to expalnd the customer base?  Convince the
insurance companies to NOT insure windows that are not protected by hurricane
shutters, and simultaneously convince government to pass a law that minimum
quality standards must be met on all new construction, i.e. FORCE builders to
only purchase the really expensive ones....  Kills two birds with one stone.
For homeowners who don't read the fine print the insurance company doesn't
have to pay for broken windows not covered by shutters that meet minimum
standards, and expands the customer base of the expensive manufacturer via
use of government force on minimum quality standards.  (Think about that the
next time you see people preparing for a hurricane using plywood.....)

How about native plant species nurserymen?  Is there only one local nursery
that grows them, but has next to no customers, since customers are often
looking at esthetics instead of origin?  No problem.  Convince local
government to pass a law to FORCE people to have a minimum number of native
plants based on number of square feet of land owned, along with fines and
mitigation for non-compliance.  Wallah, guaranteed customer base.   (Sound
ridiculous?  FYI, it isn't JUST big business that does this - this example is
actually obtained from a real ordinance, something that I exposed publicly,
clause subsequently removed.)

And you can go on and on, if you look past the government regulations to WHO
stands to benefit financially that is behind the scenes of the regulations.

I'd bet that quite often behind the scenes it is all about gaining market
share from competitors, or forcing market share when next to no customer base
even exists.  And in the front of the scenes you will have politicians and
other groups paid off the books to propagandize the reasons why people should
be sheeples and go along with the ideas to transfer more money to those
behind the scenes.

Yes, big bigness is an enemy, but big smallness is also an enemy.  IMO The
real enemy are the sheeples.  They take the bait without a word of protest,
and quite often agree with the propaganda, without thinking about who gains
behind the scenes.

The real dispute should be about how to effectively fight back.  More
regulations just adds to the problem.  What needs to be done is to undo the
regulations that are strangling us, and to fight back thru the simple use of
the concept of "strike".

Note: feel free to swap the words minority with majority in the below.  It
matters not which word is used - it is the concept that is important.

If the majority think that Monsanto's genetic engineering of seeds is good
and you don't.  Go on strike.  Don't buy seed from them.  And don't buy any
food produced by those who purchase seed from them.  Let the masses hit the
Monsanto's of the world in the pocket-book.  If there are a minority who want
genetically altered seeds that don't reproduce on 2nd planting, let them buy
it.

If the majority want to purchase big dairy milk - so be it.  But don't force
the minority to purchase raw milk from a local producer.

If the majority of people want something, and plunk their own (not someone
else's) money down - so be it.  Just don't force it on the rest who don't
want the same thing.

And more importantly, if the majority of people don't want something and
refuse to purchase something, well, that supplier either goes out of
businses, or remains small to service the minority who does want it.

IMO, the real enemy is the sheeple who don't realize think that more and more
regulations are the source problem.  More and more regulations enables the
masses becoming corporate slaves (a/k/a FASCISM).

IXNAY on the agreeing part.

Is the internet restricted?  Not exactly.

Are citizens denied access to computers and the internet?  Not exactly.

Free computers and free internet service access is already PAID for by
taxpayers and are available in the library.

Therefore what is the additional money needed for?

To buy computers for those who don't own one?
To pay for people to have internet service?

I OBJECT.

Taking money away (a/k/a theft) from your neighbor to pay for something you
want doesn't stimulate anything ......... except resentment.

That used to happen where I used to live all the time.

"They" have passed laws that makes it illegal for a private property owner to
euthenize those unwanted pets that get tossed on the streets.

My solution?  I just captured them in the barn in a stall, and called the
government animal control, when then uthenized them, of course at the
taxpaying public's expense...........

Of course it would be much more cost effective to do the former rather than
the later.... but then that just makes to much cents.

The Dems raised a big fuss over GHWB's speech. The biggest mouth was
Gephardt (D. Mo.) "The Department of Education should not be producing paid
political advertising for the president, it should be helping us to produce
smarter students." That came complete with desk pounding and fists in the
air.

It was interactive and 5 schools participated along with NASA. It also took
parental permission.
