Yes I am.
Even my 80 y.o. mom says........ the cash for clunkers program in a joke,
that it will boost sales and possibly profits for one month, then no sales
again.... then they'll come back and ask for more................. and she's
pissed that her taxes are paying for someone else to have a new car, while
she drives a clunker...........
Even dear old mom understands that the government is stealing money from one
person's pocket and giving the money to someone else. This isn't a recovery.
The only way that kind of recovery continues to "work" is thru continued
stealing.
And why on earth are people getting excited about health insurance having
more profits???
They cry out of one side of their mouth about health insurance company making
too much money, and therefore the government wants to destroy the health ins
co's,,, and at the same time they cheer this !
Actually, they are probably sighing relief that if they are making more
money, their credit default swaps and other swaps MIGHT still be okay....yea
that's it, raise the premiums on the retired folks so the insurance companies
don't collapse and cause a problem for Goldman and the rest of the Scam
Street thugs...
It isn't possible for government money to really fix the economy. It would
have helped if they spent the money on crumbling infrastructure instead of
bailing out scam street though, at least the people would have something
(roads, sewers, new water pipes, etc.) to show for it... instead of big fat
bonuses for the Goldman gangstas.
Personally, I think what is really unfolding is the first peek of evidence of
hyperinflation. The Goldman buds in the Fed gave Goldman and their best buds
a lot of free tax bail out money. They've been hoarding it. And just when
the market got really bearish (for good reason), they are now unleashing
their fire power to goose the stock market (a free money printing machine for
them). Meanwhile, they can feed Obama the lines that recovery is here,
because he is too stupid to understand the dynamics of hyperinflation, and he
will cow tow to them because they will make Obama look good to the sheeples
for a while... Because sheeples don't know where to look. How long does it
take for the masses to see it? I don't know, but I'm going to guess soon,
since some economists have come up with "Obamaggedon" and say within 5 years
now.
At the philosophical level.... I would love to see the world learn the lesson
that they can not have their cake and eat it too. At the philosophical level
I would love to see things collapse on immoral heads, especially the current
idiotic congress.
At the personal level, I'm not prepared, not ready (except that I now know
how to grow potatoes, green beans, cucurbits and sunflowers, onions and
garlic.......... but don't know how to do that yet without ordering seed thru
the mail....) I'm working on it, but that will be a changed world.
Meanwhile Scam Street is in charge....
For those that have high-speed internet,,,,
http://financialsense.com/fsn/main.html click on the August 1st,,,, 3rd hour
Part 2 .... MP3 or other preferred format. (Slow internet? you can download
and save the filed to your disk and then listen afterwards)
This radio show coincidentally talks about a couple things we were talking
about over the weekend...........
1) an attorney or law firm that has actually read the health care bill talks
about some things that are in it, who the "czars" in washington are that are
behind some of this and their published positions (very scary)............
and
2) an interview with an Australian scientist on global warming.............
this person happens to be a Green Peace, environmentalist, yada
yada,,,,,,,,,, and the interview provides some interesting perspectives.

Everyone got economically excited today because a major health insurance
company had increased profits and Ford had the first increase in sales in
almost a year. Recession over, stock market up, happy days are here again!
But wait .... the health insurance company's increased profit was entirely
because of an increase in Medicaid and Medicare rates. And Ford freely
adimits that modest increase in sales is ALL due to the Cash for Clunkers
program.
Is anyone else bothered by the fact that celebrated good economic news
signaling the end of the recession is ALL because of government money?
James

LOL - I would hate to have to peel those !!! I've peeled some pretty small
ones, but I think on pea size ones, I'd be peeling my fingers by accident....
Peas and pearl onions........ yum.

Early in the season my mother would dig up potatos when very small, and fix
them with new peas in a cream sauce. My memory tells me the potatos were no
bigger than the peas, though expect they were.

What bothered me more is some talking empty head was asked about the economy
and mentioned how great Ford is doing and banks x,y and z. And he kept
repeating how great the economy was doing. He was asked if it was really
doing good if the unemployment rates were still going up. His answer was
"that's not important."
So, if all these people aren't working, which means they aren't paying
income tax and Shiney Thing keeps saying he won't raise taxes. Pray tell,
precisely where is he going to get the money since China has implied it
won't lend anymore???

The press corp is fact-adverse but very fable friendly.
