I don't see much hope for healthcare reform, no matter what 'they' do. The whole system is so screwed up. My kids have health insurance, supposedly GOOD insurance, through their father's employer. But their primary physician is over 50 miles away. There is not one single physician in my county that their health plan will accept. My son got a physical for something, then needed a physical 8 months later for his learner's permit for driving (geez; I didn't need one, but that was many years ago). Anyway, the company wouldn't pay for 2 in a year, but the DMV wouldn't accept one over 6 months old, so the Dr. had to make up some excuse (ingrown toenail) to bill for. My ex's company changes providers every couple of years, and more often than not,. the kids have to find a new doctor. Thank goodness we don't have any on-going health problems, so it doesn't really matter. I just roll my eyes and hope we don't ever really need healthcare.

The other night, Obama was the kids Jeopardy answer to "What is the only
President to have had more vowels in his name than consonants...lol...
Poor guy, with all those vowels, his name becomes an easy morph for
things like NObama, Obamacare, Obamanation,Obamessiah, etc. etc. I
suppose that could be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on your
popularity-we still say Reaganomics, and something tells me we will be
saying Obamacare for decades to come as well.

I started watching his speech, and I swear the guy is more longwinded
than I am, and that is no small feat. I lost interest after the second
or third time he said "I am the President..." Also, I think his
comments about him and Congress having the best healthcare were not
quite as welcomed as was his intent. I know he was trying to show
empathy by following it up saying he wanted everyone to have good care,
but I know I am not alone in saying that he seemed rather smug or
snobbish or cocky or elitist (take your pick of words) in saying that a
couple of times. Right now, Skyguy and I have two separate fights with
two different insurance claims with the same company, and I did not hear
anything from the President that made me believe that these types of
issues would not continue to be a problem for many Americans.
I missed all the commentary-I'll have to start listening again if the
eyes of the media are starting to open again. For the last year, I
usually missed all the sycophantic commentary because I was outside
throwing up. ;) I'm glad that some people at least are realizing that
the guy is human and is just like other politicians-smooth talkers who
frequently lie and go back on their promises. He is not America's
Messiah or Savior-he is not the reincarnation of JFK or Abraham
Lincoln-he's just a guy who became president. Read his friends words...

Did you catch the AP article that came out last night after his
little speech on Obamacare? I was stunned to see the AP basically
call him a liar (in polite words), and pointed out his conflicting
statements made last night.

Honeymoon is over.
