Well, our cold has gradually disappeared and this year we have only had snow twice and it didn't stick more than a few days. We have gotten the cold but we don't normally get single digit temps or less for days on end. The trees up here aren't used to it and the madrones are dying, the Ponderosa pines are snapping. Nor do they normally get 70s over in the valley.

The weather is screwed up. Playing party politics and sticking one's fingers in one's ears and chanting lalala won't change that. If it would, I'd try it.

It's winter, and we have cold weather. Make sport of Mr Gore as much
as you want, but even 20 years ago when we had winter it got cold and
stayed that way most of the winter. Ice storms were rare. Now our
temps fluctuate between subzero and the 50s. Atleast we are still
getting enough cold weather to kill most pasture worms and othrer
pests. And the local utility has a deal on propane-fueled generators
rto alleviate the week-long power outages that are now business as
usual.
