I think you are right, Cathy.

Some people are much more likely to turn into doughnut people than
others. Some people fidget by nature, others don't. Interestingly, not
all the fidgeters are skinny or vice versa. Just for example, I have
twin sisters. The active one (makes me nervous, she never sits down)
has always had to watch her weight. The other one is fairly placid and
has always been on the slender side. They've had the same nature since
birth.

I think Bev is on the right track not to worry too much about
calories, but to concentrate on eating right and moving well. My sole
bit of advice for using weights for upper body strength is to not go
over 3 lbs until that feels like nothing; use repetition instead. If
your upper body is weak, you really can tear it up by overdoing.
