Hi Bev.
I've thought a little bit about this guy, too. Mostly, I see these radical
lifestyles as illustrations of possibilities, examples of the power of
choices. Not really appropriate to suggest anyone emulate them. No
ideologically-based lifestyle holds up completely to close scrutinity--at
least none that I know of.

I agree. I think what works in one location just wouldn't be feasible in another sometimes. We all make different choices based on what we think is important. If one is a M.D. and can write his own prescriptions, I'd guess he wouldn't be as worried about how many times his kids get sick. If one lives in Arizona, rammed earth homes are a lot more feasible than in places that get 55+inches of rain a year. It would be a lot easier to commune on a bike to work in say Miami than it would in say, San Francisco based on climate, terrain, etc.
Still, I think it is odd that there is no information about how he lives now. Most people that live super frugally, like in recycled houses and such, you can find pictures of their home and lots of articles about their current lifestyle.
