I agree in principle but I do not know how serious the economic crisis really is. It looks terrible to me. I don't think government action will stop the big slide. But when Congress votes for a bailout we get a bailout. It may well be a total waste of our money. I suspect it is. But I am way too ignorant of the workings of big financial business to second guess those who do understand.
So, is that hateful...you may think so. It doesn't feel hateful to me.
It feels like tough love for my fellow man. The more help we give to
people, the more dependent they become and the less they do for
themselves.
I am against bailouts. I am against charity beyond short-term emergencies--to turn my back on people in desperate needs would make me feel inhumane. But I am in favor of what makes us stronger as a society. For instance I am in favor of national cradle-to-grave health care because a healthier population is a more efficient and more productive population. And it feels right to me.
Your Revolutionary is all about doing more for the people of the world
as well as Americans.
Yeah, quite a reversal of present policy.
We will make people more dependent on government
with his programs; We will find more people turning to bite the hand
that feeds them.
Now, Bev, you know that doesn't fly here. Examples from history and his proposed programs, please.
We just need to stop. I don't know how, but we need
to stop intervening in both countries and lives of Americans and allow
people, the individual to make it or break it on their own, just as our
homesteading ancestors did.
It is a different world now. All is connected. Isolationism leads downward. Integration leads upward. Look at China.
