Gene, I have been looking for an  expression  that sums up a true
Libertarian's view of Democrats like Obama, Pelosi, & really, the Democrat
party as an entity.

The problem with the current Republicans is not that they are distinctive
from Democrats; instead, it's that they have become just like them.
The opinion is mine, but the words are borrowed............bobford

I sit on a man's back, choking him and making him carry me, and yet assure
myself and others that I am very sorry for him and wish to ease his lot by
all possible means - except by getting off his back.

Please define socialism as you use it here.

I see Obama helping people help themselves.

You may profess to abhor it but you have lived with socialism under
the administrations of both parties. You may continue to abhor it for
the rest of your life but the greater populace wants the government to
control more parts of their lives. We can debate the sense of it but
most people want the government to provide security.

The current financial mess is largely the result of insufficient
government control.

The best we can realistically hope for is balance. The so-called
conservative party has spent us into substantial indebtedness for
their programs. It is time for the pendulum to swing back the other
way.
