And rightly so. Gov. Bredesen pointed out that state borders were
mis-surveyed hundreds of times and in every case the established borders
stand and the
original calls are only a footnote in history. Were I sit right now is a
case
in point. The border between Tenn and Va was suppose to be a straight line
west to east, but here the surveyers made a 5 mile "mistake" (local yarns
tell a
different story, of course) giving the "offset" on the NE tip of Tennessee.
Virginia has never been stupid enough to claim that acreage as part of their
state. As for Georgia, there must be something in the water.

Nor is it just a regional question. Less than am mile from here is South
Holston Lake. The Tennessee River is full of coveted water because it is
empounded in the lakes (such as this one) and released to keep the river
navigable.
The water in question first goes through my place here in the form of Big
Jacob's Creek, Harper's Creek, and Bee Suck Creek before the join and empty
into
South Holston Lake.

Georgia's water problem is because of over development. The utterly
ridiculious claim by Georgia's legislature just shows he level of desperation
they
have gotten themselves into.

pipe that into your water system) </HTML>
