THERE ARE NO GOOD PLACES TO LIVE IN ILLINOIS! It is all boring, ugly,
flat cornfields. There are no forests, no wildlife, no hills, no
streams, creeks or rivers. There is no fishing, no hunting, no
possibility of homesteading. No one in their right mind would want to
move here!

Gotcha. Taxes are probably high, too, like in New York and California. Rural dwellers living in states with big-city social programs have to support that system but get little benefit. And of course, all those gangs and other criminal types in the infested city are certain to find you sooner or later as they seek rural hideouts, right? And then there is the well-known pollution in the Illinois River, which drains all the crud from Chicago to keep it from going into Lake Michigan, including that green poison the Irish dump into the river on St. Paddy's Day. And then there is . . . ah, that should be enough. You can be sure that I will not be recommending such an awful place.

You are a brave woman to tackle such conditions.
