I always subbed out the plastering but watched it being done so thought it was an easy job until I tried to do the ceiling area of our shower. I couldn't make it smooth for the life of me. I talked our son (the artist) into painting a sky mural over it to hide the roughness. It turned out better than I'd hoped for.
