I'm not sure they will accomplish anything in the way that you described. Hopefully they will stop the screaming downhill ride to bankruptsy and the insanity of turning every single other country in the world against the U.S.
I do know that that at least one thing they hoped to accomplish over the last 6 years will now happen and that is a raise in the minimum wage. Or so "he who sits in the White House" has said, or rather he said he won't veto a raise in the minimum wage which is what he had said he would do before.
Will all the troops come home? Who knows. Iraq has become another one of those on win situations. I hope the backdoor draft will stop and I hope the troops will start coming home. I hope there will be a real change in the leadership on the ground over there and that the good folks that are there will finally be listened to!
I hope they will vigorously investigate all the fraud in Iraq and that includes not just Halliburton but some of the generals AND Guiliani and his "security" firm. All of that was money that could have gone to providing for our soldiers and instead went to line the pockets of a bunch of greed merchants just irritates the p*ss out of me!
Something is really sick about people that will fire someone because they refuse to serve spoiled food to our troops! Those folks need to be strung up at the nearest oak tree!
I have a whole wish list but I'm not a big dreamer <g>

Here is my question for you:
For those who are happy about the change of power, what do you hope the
Democrats will be able to accomplish in the next two years that would
not have been accomplished otherwise? Please don't be vague and say
something like "healthcare reform". Try to be as specific as possible.
For example, if you expect to see ALL the troops home, say that, or
maybe you expect to have 90% of the troops home.
Sorry for the start of a possible firestorm here, but I am just curious
as to what people expect to happen as a result of the change. I'll be
reading and learning. Thanks.
