If we had it to do over, I'd concentrate on one project at a time. Or maybe
have one outdoor project and another for rainy days.

I'd have housing and fencing finished before the livestock to go in them
arrived.

I'd work on the vegetable and herb gardens before developing livestock.

I'd go slow enough to avoid debt.

I'd continue to read and research anything new.

I'd do as I did and visit people who have done what I want to; observe them
and ask questions; volunteer to help out to get experience. I'd never
milked an animal until our cow had a calf. It would have been better to
learn first. Although we did pretty good learning together.

I'd buy quality equipment. Our stainless steel milking bucket was a
wonderful investment which we still have about 25 years later with only a
couple of dents from cow kicks.

We dreamed first. Then found land (two years later). Then moved (2 months
later). Then, 6 weeks later, had our first child. About 2 or 3 months
later, we got our first horse and cow.
