I guess I was referring more to the 'walled-garden' comment,
suggesting that you're either 'in' with the band/event (converted!) or
'not in' the loop at all. And by no means am I saying that anyone
should not use Facebook or any other social networking site to promote
your show/band, but suggesting (or agreeing with Ross) that there is
more you can do online and offline to get the word out.
Facebook, like Myspace before it, is indeed an great tool for bands to
use - but guess what, EVERY band is using it so individually, having a
myspace page or creating a Facebook event for your show should be seen
as the bare minimum you do, not ALL that you do.
