Maybe, maybe not. The pre-amp stage of most turntable amps employs an EQ curve (often the "RIAA Curve") that increases bass response and cuts treble. Not so critical if you're digitizing Nils 45's, but definitely a good thing if you're trying to capture say, Massacre.
Speaking of the vinyl of Killing Time sounds a million times better than any of the three different CD versions. They must have fucked up the original tapes or something. That's a pretty good reason to digitize some vinyl.
