You know, and i think it's primarily with the younger generation (ie:
student age) but for some reason people assume that 'no response' and a
'response saying no' are the same thing...and they're not. As someone
who does most of my business via email, it drives me crazy. To me,
it's like asking 'do you have a cigarette' and the person walking away
from you, instead of just answering 'no.'

As some of you are aware, I started up my radio promo company, Cool
Fishing, again recently at the request of a couple local bands who had
new releases. Despite communications with some of the bigger
non-commercial stations in the country (KCRW, KEXP, etc) about acts
based in Chapel Hill, I never once got an email back from the music
director at two of the three local stations in the market, WXYC and
WXDU, and had to get my feedback from other insiders I know.
Especially disappointing since I was a DJ as recent as of last Summer
at xyc. Again, that type of non-response in general has had me
re-thinking of continuing Cool Fishing, despite the fact that I have
other bands interested in the service.

I know I might not be the fastest email responder (as I get tons
myself,) but I always respond eventually...to the degree that I spent
my entire weekend cleaning out my inbox....glenn
