Thanks, that proves that this is a software not a hardware problem. (It also gives you a way to use your hardware in BL with 2.4.31 kernel and modules).
Someone claims to have their Olympus camera working under 2.2.18 kernel. He said he needed basic scsi, scsi disk, and scsi generic (which would be sg). Could 2.2.26 require sg.o if 2.4.31 does not?

Sindi said, in part:
Please try it also with David's 2.4.31 kernel and modules, posted atSNIP
http://keesan.freeshell.org/bl/2.4.31 - bzImage.431.gz (gunzip it first)
and the modules are in userspec.tgz.431 - remove the '431', unpack it in
/tmp, and just copy over the modules: usbcore.o usb-ohci.o and usb-storage
to /lib/modules/2.4.31/misc (make that directory and subdirectory).
This kernel has built-in scsi, no need for scsi_mod and sd_mod.
Hit 'Enter' after you see a line about sda1 to get the prompt back.
I did the above.
And insmodded the 3 modules.
Will type what I see on the "other" computer ( BL2.1) after I plugged in the
reader with SD card:
hub.c: new USB device 00:02,0-1, assigned address 2
scsi0 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices
Vendor: Generic Model: STORAGE DEVICE Rev: 0100
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Attached scsi removable disk sda at scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lin 0
sda: Write Protect is off
sda: sda1
==============
It shows up when I say fdisk /dev/sda
And mount -t msdos /dev/sda1 /mnt works fine.
Thanks,
Sheldon
