No. It's not a SCSI interface, it's just SCSI-like commands sent
over a USB connection.

sda1 = first partition on first SCSI device
sda = first SCSI device
sdb = second SCSI device

USB Mass Storage. It is as simple as can be. Gphoto2 requires complicated
setup, specialized software and drivers, it doesn't work as well, etc. I
can't see why camera makers even use other interfaces, as USB Mass Storage
is so much better.
