e3-2.43 downloaded a couple of days ago. Maybe they added something to
this version that requires tail? I could not make the pi version work in
either bl1 or bl2 without the pertinent tail, in the right place.

Try my package without tail using e3pi. e3bl.tgz has tail in it, delete
it after installing to see if it will still run.

How do you make e3pi do e3vi? They come up with different help screens.

What do you know, the del key works in nano at BL2!

I did not know that. In pico at my bbs it does not delete, you need to
use Ctl-D (or backspace) instead. Pico also won't go to start or end of
file (for me, anyway) or move backwards one word at a time and e3pi will.

We also have an outdated version of pine at the bbs that won't display
html at all even with lynx. You need to export the html and exit pine
first.
