Depends on the version of DOS, but I believe that the most recent
versions have either 32MB or 64MB limits... I do know they are
limited, just not how much by which version. DOS 7.0 (Win95) appears
to be limited to 64MB.

One thing that I have found, though, is that though the DOS may be
limited to the maximum memory available to the running program, it is
possible to use more. I have set up 32MB RAMdisks on several machines,
which I have primarily used as browser cache - it can make a big
difference in browsing speed, if the cache files can be stored on the
RAMdisk, instead of the hard drive. It also makes editing large 10MB+
text files much quicker, if you copy them to the RAMdisk first, then
start editing.
