I can't really understand what you're after, Day. Can you explain a bit
more? In principle, it seems like a good idea to have both DOS and Linux
(or 2 or more of any other OS's) in case one or the other develops
problems. Better yet, I suppose, if they're located on 2 separate disks.
That way, you'll be more likely to have a working system to get you by in
a pinch (presuming the pinch doesn't involve a fried mainboard or power
supply). But that's only in principle. In practice, I don't think I can
say that in the time I've been using Linux (started fiddling with it in 98
or 99, but didn't become a full-time user til about 2 years ago) I've ever
been rescued by DOS. I've also not had any critical Linux system (most of
my machines are actually in a perpetual state of system development) ever
suddenly fail on me. Likely I will at some point: I don't suppose anyone
using a computer can ever avoid such happening at least once in their
lives. I don't know how relevant what I'm saying is to your post, since I
don't understand too well what you're asking for. In closing, I'll just
note that BL2 ramdrive version comes with dialer/modem support, so it can
definitely get you online - as long as you're not using a winmodem. Has
some NIC support as well, in case you need to connect to a LAN or
cable/DSL modem. NIC's not natively supported by BL2 could have modules
easily loaded via floppy disk or from a DOS partition.
