The penguin is at the far left of the bar. If you are
still running a virtual screen (not recommended) then the
penguin might be off the screen to the left.

Then you are probably using twm (not icewm) as your window
manager.

Don't put anything after icewm. All you need in .xinitrc
is the following:
-----
icewm
-----
Nothing else. No other words on that line. No other lines.

You do not need a manual. Just one word in .xinitrc
(in your home directory). Of course, icewm must be
installed in the path and be executable.

If I put warning messages in all the files that dummies
might foul up, BasicLinux would be twice the size. :-)
