All that comes to mind is fiction written by "permaculturists":

Although I haven't read it, I hear nothing but good things about Ursula K Le
Guin's 'Always Coming Home'.

And while I've devoured Wendell Berry's poetry and essays, I've haven't
gotten around to his fiction (A Place on Earth, Jayber Crow).

'Last of the Husbandmen' Gene Logsdon

and finally I hear Heather Flores (Food Not Lawns) is working on some novels.

any permaculture based writing out there.  I know that there is a lot of
dystopian stuff, but I am curious to know if any writers have picked up on
the sustainability thread and started to run with it yet?

Judith Moffett, Holy Ground trilogy (I haven't read this third book) and

Sheri Tepper, most of her novels have an ecological sensibility. I'd start
with the latest one.
