I am simply a grassroots gardener who once was able to feed her kids
only because the Lord blessed her with a grat garden.

I am one who believes that the Lord God gifted all of humanity with
plants and seeds for their nourishment. I believe that any attempt to
alter the natural historical rhythm of that gift is theft from the
human race.

Larry, just because your organization was taken over in a particular
way does not mean that every other outwardly similar event happened
for identical reasons to yours.

Likewise, I once worked with a fellow who held a major set of huge
double standards--one for himself, and one for everybody else. After
he alienated all of his coworkers with the mess he tried to pull on
them, he made a couple of major, major boo-boos, and found that he had
to tread a very tight line for a while. Then he was stupid enough to
thumb his nose at authority one time too many, and rubbed the noses of
his bosses in it, and Boom! he was gone. His was a very long sob story
very much like Kent's. I knew it for what it was, because I had been a
witness to every single thing. He had even tried to coerce me and
several others into being involved fraudulently on his behalf. So I
KNEW!

I suppose that's one major reason that I am sceptical about the
contents of those two letters. Because I, too, have seen it done
before.

Finally, Kent AND Dianne DID found SSE. But they did not "create" it
alone--they had major help from lots of people, many of them
volunteers. And finally, SSE quit being Mr. Whealy's private puppy to
train when he began seeking and accepting public monies from taxpayer
funded government agencies. At that point his obligations began to
outweigh his rights. It always happens that way when you invite
government involvement.

Anyway, Lawrence, I think this list is a great idea. You obviously
have many more resources than I do to be able to set it up. I do
appreciate it. I am like Toni. I would like to get on with the happy
business of talking garden and trading seeds. I don't want to listen
to folks bashing SSE, and I don't want to fawn over Kent. I just want
to focus on matters pertaining to my garden.

I guess it's the way the issues are discussed that bothers me. I am
raising two young grandsons. We garden. We encourage them to be
inquisitive and creative. In a couple of years, I'd like to be able to
send them in here to this group and tell them to see if they can find
someone to trade them whatever it is that strikes their fancy. I
really would like to see this become a family-friendly group suitable
for young children to grow up in. There has been lots of harsh
language here since the SSE story broke. I just wish it didn't need to
be that way.

I've said all I'm gonna say about SSE now. There isn't anything that
can be said or done that will change anyone's mind, so what's the
point.
