That's great news, Steve, congratulations. You won't be fooling around with
much more political stuff
now that you have real work to do building your permaculture site. I assume
you are still in New Zealand.
What is the climate like there and what type of soil do you have? You could
initiate a challenge for
those of in the list interested in brainstorming design options for your
site. Through this process you
could have many possibilities to pick from.
[long essay I have been thinking a lot about lately; here is a sample:]
Think long and hard about your footprint on your land. In short, keep
vehicles of all types OFF the soil.
Walk only where you absolutely need to. Form your site design around the
extreme care needed to
preserve the native fauna and flora and soil integrity on the acreage.
Water channeling and impoundment
and garden preparation, roads and walks might be the only earthworks you
will want to create.
