This is a real problem. When it comes to inventing something you must
patent it or someone else will and then they can and will turn around and
prevent you from producing it. Open source is a great concept but when
swimming with the sharks one must always be aware or you could end up on
their plate. This reminds me of Monsanto's current strategy of polluting
the gene pool in order to claim ownership to everything.
