Hi, Greg
Good to hear from you on the list. I agree with you nearly 100%. These OT discussion soemtimes need to be taken off-forum. May I suggest that 1 response to an OT thread be to take it off-forum. Everyone's email address is at the top of their post, so it can be easily done.
I think man-made GW won't affect fruit growing real soon----or maybe not at all. But politics(Food Safety Laws, actually) CAN affect NAFEX'ers who sell their fruit, unfortunately, very quickly. I know MOST NAFEX'ers don't sell fruit commercially, but some do. It can also affect how we buy the fruit we don't grow ourselves and what might be available to buy. But, again, these things can be taken off-forum after an intial OT post.
Thanks for stepping in to quiet down OT posts. We missed you. Thanks for steering us back on-topic of enjoying fruit growing, eating, and sharing those wonderful experiences with others who may haven't had that enjoyment yet.
    Thanks, Greg!

I agree wholeheartedly. I've had my hands full lately and Lawrence
graciously offered to help out administering the list.

One other suggestion: if someone sends a request to unsubscribe (or
other administrative request) to the list as a whole, consider that they
MIGHT be someone who knows MUCH MORE about fruit than they do about the
finer points of computers and email lists. (It doesn't do much good to
have the list populated with the reverse combination.)

Accordingly, replying to the list about "how could you get this wrong",
etc. is not constructive, wastes bandwith, and prompts those with
expertise to quit. (For what it's worth, I've had several requests for
assists to unsubscribe--LONG time NAFEX members. Buh-bye experience!)

sincerely,

Greg Miller
