The old "Hall's Hardy" was really a peach-almond hybrid and you haven't missed anything by not getting nuts from it.

Instead of cutting it down, maybe I could use it for scaffolding for grapes or kiwis. I have a climbing rose on one of its branches.

Or how would it work to graft various peaches on to it?
