Should be able to find both in a decent taxonomy book, maybe even Dirr. Autumn olive is what was recommended for windbreak/wildlife/shelterbelts for years, and Russian olive I see more in city yards (it usually looks terribly sick & unhappy.)

I wonder if goumi has the same issue of being invasive. Ive only been growing mine for a couple years & no sign of them spreading at all. There are some pastures here in my area of southwestern WI that have either autumn olive or russian olive spreading out of control. Not sure if I know how to identify the difference between the plants.

Autumn olive is becoming a troublesome invasive exotic in some places. Yes, the blossoms smell great, and the fruit is useful or at least helpful to wildlife. But it can take over !
I wonder whether it is truly allelopathic. It grows fast and forms a thick canopy; I bet it simply robs other plants of water, nutrients, and light. No toxic exudates needed.
